The children loved our second welly walk of the year! Before we went outside we looked at the photos from our first welly walk (about four weeks ago) and then thought about how the trees and the school grounds had changed since then. It was fascinating to see some trees with only a few leaves left! We talked about how the leaves on the ground were brown and crunchy and the children enjoyed listening to the crunch as they scrunched them up in their hands. The children were also really intrigued by how tall their shadows were in the photo below! We’ll go on another welly walk in the middle of winter and observe how the school grounds have changed further!
In Drawing club we spent two weeks focusing on the texts 'The Colour Monster' and 'The Colour Monster - the feelings doctor'. After we has spent time reading each text the children were invited to Drawing Club to draw and talk about their ideas. What joy this session brings to our class every week!
